Love Thyself To Love Him

There are so many amongst us who are constantly trying to find answers for our queries on the existence of God and when we finally know that He exists, we don't know what to do next.

For so many of us who have been introduced to His existence ever since childhood, we may find it difficult to write Him off as non-existent or as someone who's worthy of ignorance. And the more closer He gets to our hearts, every time we find ourselves in a soup and are got out of it just at the nick of the moment.

Many a time, I have felt the urge to seek more about God and get even closer to him; as close as treating Him as our next-door buddy! I am sure that He will definitely yield to my wishes. Whenever I talk about this strange fancy of mine to my folks, I find myself faced with bewildered looks. I am sure that you would have, felt at times, that all your movements are being monitored by someone or have felt quite inferior walking with some one who appeared to be quite striking and attractive while you stood out dull. Well, that's how you might feel even when you think of God's presence in your room. With your vision of Him as a dazzling and charismatic entity, it gives all the more reasons for you to feel odd. Imagine walking with God in such a situation and you are sure to have eyes staring wide at you and you will only wish for the floors to open up and take you in at that moment. You may begin to believe that everyone around is just waiting to show the door to you so they can get closer to God. People who seemed warm and friendly before God stepped into your life may pass remarks about you, who appear to talking to someone who is not visible to their eyes.

But you must remember to stick to your beliefs regardless of what others have to comment about you and your behavior. You must have realized by now that He has always come to your rescue in times of trouble and stood by you at all times; all that and much more without any expectations and conditions.

If you really love God, then you must first love thyself simply because you are His blessed creation and He only wants you to be kind and good to yourself. You might wonder about your duty towards your fellow-beings. True, but you will be able to love others only if you start loving yourself and respecting your own being. Never worry about how you are viewed by others, instead try and find out your views about your own self.

Once you begin to love yourself, you will immediately pull the others towards you. The warmth that you treat yourself with will invite your fellow-beings towards you.

Love yourself and you will love Him. If you start loving thyself, I am sure people will look at you differently and don't go anywhere in search of Him. Just look within yourself and you will find Him.
